Founders

Philly Catholic Tours was founded by the father/daughter team of Mike Filoromo, Jr. and Maura Filoromo. Both are life-long Catholics from Pennsylvania residing in Chester County, PA.  They love travel and realized that many people were not aware of the vast number of shrines located in the area. So they decided to help area Catholics and others experience the religious beauty and spiritual blessings we have here in the Philadelphia    area and in nearby cities.

About

Philadelphia is a city rich with history. There are plenty of notable events in American History that happened here, but it is not as well known that there are also just as many remarkable events in Catholic history that happened here too.  Several saints who called Philadelphia home and other saints  hold a special spot in the hearts of Catholics in the city. The Greater Philadelphia region is blessed with many beautiful shrines. Some are dedicated to saints associated with the area such as St. John Neumann and for influential saints like St. Rita of Cascia and St. Pio of Pietrelcina.  Others are shrines associated with devotion to Mary such as the Miraculous Medal Shrine and Our Lady of Czestochowa.

With all these wonderful and beautiful shrines and religious sites, we wish to make them more accessible to Catholics throughout the region. Philly Catholic Tours works with groups to develop custom pilgrimages to shrines, sites, churches, and other interesting places in and around the city.
